Day Retreats

Our next retreats for Spring/Summer 2020 will be free of charge and delivered online via Zoom :

4th July with Anushka Fernandopulle – not yet confirmed

Please still keep the dates free as we hope to offer online retreats with these teachers via Zoom instead. We’ll let you have more information about the online retreats as soon as we can. Please sign up to our emails if you wish to get further information on these and the link to the Zoom retreat days. We will also be in touch if you have booked a place on any of these retreats to arrange a reimbursement.

Monday Sitting Group
The Monday sitting group has now moved online, it will meet weekly at 7pm on Zoom for approx 90 mins. Please contact mondaysittinggroup@gmail.com for the link to the weekly meetings.

Sunday Sangha
The Sunday Sangha has temporarily cancelled its monthly meetings, we’ll let you know when it seems appropriate to start again.

Our Website
We apologise if you have been experiencing problems accessing the website. It is being continuously hacked and despite repair the same thing soon happens again. We are planning to move and update the website to avoid these problems, though that may take a little while, so please bear with us on that.

Online meditation resources
There has been an amazing and generous response from the Insight and other Buddhist meditation communities with offers of online dharma sessions whilst we staying at home. These include regular online sessions and short courses.

Here are some that we know of that are on offer:

Gaia House Online Dharma Hall
Gaia House is offering sessions at the following times each week: Tuesdays; 7.30 pm;Thursdays 11.00 am;Saturdays 5 pm; and Sundays 9.30 am.The sessions last between 75 and 90 mins and will be led by Gaia House teachers and Community Dharma Leaders. Sessions will include meditation, exploration of a theme that connects Dharma practice with the current situation, and time for sharing with others online. More information is here.

Oxford Mindfulness Centre
Oxford Mindfulness Centre is offering mindfulness sessions on Wednesday nights led by different teachers each week

SanghaSeva
Zohar Lavie and others from the SanghaSeva team of facilitators are offering 90min meditation sessions fortnightly on Zoom from 5.30 – 7pm, the next meeting is on 8th April. More information is here.

Oren Jay Sofer
US based insight meditation teacher Oren Jay Sofer is offering a series of guided meditations during April as part of an Insight Meditation Society online retreat.’ More information is here. (Note the timings of these retreats are shown in Pacific Standard Time. You can use this online tool to convert to UK times.)

Bhante Bodhidhamma

Bhante Bodhidhamma will be live on this YouTube channel every evening 8.00 – 9.30 pm from Sunday 29th March.

Plum Village

Plum Village, the monastery of Thich Nhat Hanh, is providing opportunities to learn and practice mindfulness online. More information is here.

Breathworks

Vidyamala Burch is offering a free Breathworks mindfulness course on Covid 19, it’s possible to start the course at any time. More information is here.

Southsea Sangha
Dharma in Times of Covid, Southsea Sangha is hosting weekly sessions with diverse dharma teachers from a range of traditions and locations. Every Sunday night at 6pm.
