FORTHCOMING DAY RETREATS

Due to Covid-19 all our day retreats are currently taking place online via Zoom. Please register for our online retreats on our Eventbrite page

Our online retreats are free of charge, however, we invite you to support our teachers by offering Dana. We also invite you to make a small donation to help cover our operating costs.

What to Expect

Day Retreats Online

Our online retreats take place on Zoom. Please arrive in the Zoom waiting room 5 minutes before the scheduled start time. The retreat will be from 9:30am until roughly 4:30pm and includes a lunch break of at least 1 hour. We ask that you commit to staying for the full day.

The exact structure of the day will vary depending on the teachers’ preference. Typically it will include periods of sitting and walking meditation, a dharma talk, guidance on meditation and an opportunity to ask questions about your practice. All retreats are suitable for beginners, as well as those with experience of meditation practice.

We ask that you remain muted during the session, unless you are invited to unmute and speak. We invite you to keep your video on so that we have a sense of community together, unless your internet connection does not support that.

At the end of the day there will be an opportunity to offer Dana to the teacher.

In person Day Retreats at Old Headington Village Hall

Please arrive for registration between 9.15 – 9.45am. The retreat finishes at around 5pm, and we ask that you commit to staying for the full day.

The retreat will be a day of sustained meditation, supported by an atmosphere of silence. The exact structure of the day will vary depending on the teachers’ preference. Typically it will include periods of sitting and walking meditation, a dharma talk, and guidance on meditation provided by the teacher. There will also be opportunities to ask questions.

All retreats are suitable for beginners, as well as those with experience of meditation practice.

Please contact us if you have any access needs and would like support to enable you to attend the retreat. The hall is wheelchair accessible.

At the end of the day there will be an opportunity to offer Dana to the teacher.

What to Bring

Please bring a mat or rug plus meditation stool or cushions if you wish to sit on the floor. There are also chairs for your use if you prefer – these are the plastic stackable kind, so you may wish to bring a cushion or two for padding.

Lunchtime Arrangements

A selection of teas, herbal drinks, milk and soya milk will be provided on the day. You are invited to bring your own vegetarian or vegan packed lunch. If you would like to, then please feel free to bring some fruit/biscuits/cake to share with others.
